An Introduction to European New Space AI (ENSAI)
The New Space era is shaped by a fusion of different forces: technology, markets, and complexity. To see through the increasing complexity, European Space Ventures AG (ESV) has developed European New Space AI (ENSAI), a proprietary research platform designed to augment space industry professionals with AI tools and curated knowledge to create outputs that determine space company business models and technology opportunities based on investing profitability and feasibility.
The three data domains for ENSAI are:
Technology: What space hardware (e.g. satellites, ground stations, frequencies) are in place and what is in demand? What specific technology, from Deep-Tech to Space-Tech, is required to meet demand or break into new markets? ENSAI maps space technology to determine supply-chains and opportunities.
Markets: The New Space Age has more vibrant markets and more participants, from Private Equity, Hedge Fund and Asset Manager down to retail investors and now Token holders. They are a new market of customers for ENSAI, which can provide tactical investment decisions.
Complexity: The increased sophistication of space technology and proliferation of niche space markets (where communication can be divided into numerous sub-sets, e.g. from broad Satellite TV to distinct D2D), plus accompanying regulation, security agreements and operational frameworks, creates an increasingly complex market. ENSAI structures this complexity into an environment that can be navigated.
Use Cases
Currently ENSAI as an AI-tool is used by ESV to back-test in-house human decisions. ENSAI compliments ESV, it filters out noise to focus on a signal, in this case an investing decision based on a market gap, a technology in development, and a tradeable investment
Next iterations will be to pre-empt new situations such as Space Debris. Space Situational Awareness is procedural, and Space Debris is a When, not an If. When it does occur, it does not mean all satellites are in-operable. ENSAI uses Space Situational Awareness tools and market information to determine in which order satellites are in danger and how to invest.
